EGR Delete – What You Need to Know
The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system is designed to reduce emissions by recirculating exhaust gases back into the engine. Over time, this can lead to carbon build-up, reduced performance, and various engine faults — especially on higher mileage vehicles.
Our EGR delete service involves modifying the vehicle’s ECU software to electronically disable the EGR system. This prevents exhaust gases from being recirculated, eliminating the common issues associated with a sticking or failing EGR valve.
This solution helps eliminate:
• Engine Management Light (EML) faults• Poor performance and reduced throttle response• Rough running caused by carbon build-up• Recurring EGR valve failures and costly repairs
The vehicle is then recalibrated to run efficiently without the EGR system, often resulting in smoother performance and improved reliability.
Important: EGR removal is strictly intended for off-road or motorsport use only. It is not legal for road use under current UK emissions regulations.
