DTC Off – What You Need to Know
DTC stands for Diagnostic Trouble Code — these are the fault codes stored in your vehicle’s ECU when the system detects a problem. In some cases, certain fault codes can cause persistent warning lights, reduced performance, or limp mode, even after repairs have been carried out or when a component is no longer required.
Our DTC Off service involves carefully modifying the ECU software to switch off selected fault codes so they no longer trigger warning lights or unwanted system restrictions.
This solution can help prevent:
• Persistent Engine Management Light (EML) faults• Recurring fault codes for removed or non-essential components• Limp mode caused by specific stored faults• Unwanted dashboard warnings after modifications
This is a software-based solution and is usually carried out where a known fault code needs to be removed from the ECU calibration. Each vehicle and fault code is assessed individually to make sure the correct solution is applied.
Important: DTC Off should only be used where appropriate and is intended for off-road, export, or motorsport use only where required. Some fault code removals may not be legal for road use depending on the system involved.
